Chair of the Board
Dick Freeborough is Chair of the Board for Seniors Money in Canada. Mr. Freeborough is a distinguished business professional with more than four decades of accomplishments in auditing, advising senior management and board directorships. Mr. Freeborough served as a partner of the global auditing firm KPMG where his career spanned almost 40 years, involved with domestic and international companies principally in the financial services arena and others in a variety of businesses including heavy industry. He was partner in charge of services to the insurance industry in Canada for many years, and a member of the board of KPMG for six years, three as deputy chair. He is an experienced Board member, serving Triad Guaranty Insurance Corporation Canada, RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada, ACE INA Insurance and the Independent Order of Foresters. He is also a former Member of the Advisory Committee to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada on Life Insurance. His specific work experience includes involvement in securities issues, accounting research and advice, litigation support activity on accounting matters, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters, risk management and internal audit. Mr. Freeborough has also had extensive involvement in professional, social and community activities. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Guelph. He is immediate past Chair of the Oakville Hospital Foundation, Past President of the Board of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and has also served as a volunteer for the Red Cross. Mr. Freeborough is a Graduate of the Directors’ Education Program of the ICD Corporate Governance College. He is also a Chartered Accountant and earned his Bachelor of Commerce at McGill University. |
